Jamaica Street

The area around Jamaica Street in Liverpool has grabbed my attention recently.  Its a great mix of old and new industrial architecture.  Some buildings have clearly been abandoned many years ago, others more recently.  But some are still in use today, making and selling things.  Its an area of rich pickings for a photographer, although sometimes I feel that its harder to see the shot.  I'll keep trying though.

The Bascule Bridge

This bridge fascinates me.  I've shot it a few times, most recently when I got the chance to get a look inside last year.  I had a little spare time today so I went down to see if I could get anything a bit different.  I was after detail shots, as you see here.  The light was not nice, though - very contrasty.  I think the cross processed feel to the final editing mitigates the harshness.

I've seen a few of these Simon Cowell posters pasted up around the Ropewalks area.  Seemed as good a thing as any to share for the new year :-)

Snow

It doesn't happen around here a lot, so I guess its worth sharing when it does.

Street Art

I've been shooting a lot of this stuff recently.  The more I look for it, the more I see.  Ropewalks is full of rich pickings, but the top one was taken just off Chapel Street.

/edit  Since I posted this, the top one - the biplane - has been confirmed as a genuine Banksy
