This is Nisha and the epithet "Curry Evangelist" is hers, not mine. Her mission is to de-mystify curry cooking and she's doing a pretty good job of it through her videos on youtube and regular curry clinics on her twitter stream. Go take a look. She's also a good friend and it was great to spend an hour in Bold Street Coffee this afternoon catching up. This was shot inside with the Canon 50mm f/1.4.

Friday night at Zelig's for the Fab Collective's 3rd birthday party. The usual mix of shooting each other and general silliness. The top photo is our take on the Last Supper. The others were mostly, if not all shot with the 85mm f/1.8. Looking through the shots of the night, its clear that alcohol and cameras don't mix at all well - far too many rejects as out of focus or suffering from camera shake. Still, good fun and a great night. Thanks to Jan for setting up the Last Supper shot.
The area around Jamaica Street in Liverpool has grabbed my attention recently. Its a great mix of old and new industrial architecture. Some buildings have clearly been abandoned many years ago, others more recently. But some are still in use today, making and selling things. Its an area of rich pickings for a photographer, although sometimes I feel that its harder to see the shot. I'll keep trying though.
This bridge fascinates me. I've shot it a few times, most recently when I got the chance to get a look inside last year. I had a little spare time today so I went down to see if I could get anything a bit different. I was after detail shots, as you see here. The light was not nice, though - very contrasty. I think the cross processed feel to the final editing mitigates the harshness.

So, you're driving down to the south coast and its pissing down on the M5. But the lights and reflections are dancing off the road. What would you do? Ricoh GRII on a mini-tripod mounted on the dash set to fire every 5 seconds on the intervalometer.

I've been shooting a lot of this stuff recently. The more I look for it, the more I see. Ropewalks is full of rich pickings, but the top one was taken just off Chapel Street.
